Connect an android device to WSU wireless
Issue / Summary
You or a user would like to connect an Android device to the WSU Wireless WiFi network.
Resolution
Connecting an Android device to WSU Wireless through a user’s Active Directory account is not a completely straight forward process. If a user would like to connect their issued or personal Android device to the WSU WiFi these steps must be followed.
Instructions
Step 1:
Choose the WSU Wireless (Authentication Required) network from the list of displayed networks on the Android device. Generally this menu can be found in the Settings app. Some phones, tablets, or Chromebooks may move the location of this menu but it can usually be found via the app selection menu or the top / bottom notification tray.
Step 2:
Refer to the below picture for required settings for connection.
- EAP Method: PEAP
- Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
- Server CA Certificate: Default / Unspecified / Use Server Certificate
- Identity: User WSU AD Account Name
- Password: User WSU AD Password
After the above settings are confirmed, tap / click Connect and access should be granted as long as all information provided is correct and valid.
For public or loaner devices it may be worth mentioning to not save user identity information.
