Summary:

For a non-student/faculty personnel to conduct online business or make electronic payments at WSU they require a sponsored network friend I.D. To get one of these a form must be submitted to WSU and sponsored by a verified account through the steps listed below.

Instructions:

 1.) Go to the following link: https://webapps.wsu.edu/ais/friendaccounts/

 2.) Once there select the “Sponsor an account” link found on the right of the page.

3.) An external page will pop up prompting you to sign in with you network ID. Enter both your username and password then select the login button. 

4.) Following a successful login you will be moved to another page that looks like the picture below. Here is where you will enter the information for the person that will be obtaining the friend ID.

5.) After entering the correct information and selecting the submit button at the bottom of the page a notification will pop up on the screen verifying that the account has been submitted. From there an email will be sent to the person obtaining the friend ID to complete the activation of the account.

6.) From there the person obtaining the friend ID will receive an email that looks like the one below. It will contain a temporary password as well as a link to activate the account. 

7.) After clicking the activate your account now link found in the middle of the email, a webpage will open prompting you to enter your temporary password.

8.) Once logged in you will need to issue a new password as well as select a security question in order to protect your account.

9.) Once that is done you will then enter your information for the friend account. Mandatory fields are denoted with a *. Once completed select the activate button.

10.) After inputting all the information properly and selecting activate a notification will pop up on the screen notifying you of your success in activating the account.

11.) An email will be sent to you verifying the creation/activation of the friend account.
